1986 F800 Brake problem

My 1986 F800 with a 429 4v is giving me all kinds of problems with the buzzers.
I am getting a light on the dash for the EGR and the brakes.
I can't find any diagrams or books anywhere to diagnose problems, or parts.
I can see a part that is leaking red fluid(no idea) it is a part that is beside the master cyl. and it has a wire coming down from it.
It looks like a sensor of some kind, bit it resembles a spark plug???
I know sounds weird?
ANY help would be great?

Finding info on the big trucks is difficult. I would search the internet for a book you could buy. Possibly one would show up on ebay. I find it hard to believe a truck that large has a EGR, but I don't know that particular model. Your 429 is not like the early Ford 429 either is it? Isn't that a special truck engine?

I am not too sure.
This is what I am trying to find out?
I know even the big truck Ford dealer has no idea.
I bought it in June of this year, and still have found nothing.
It was originally a fire truck, and built for the fire dept. from Ford.
So who knows what they did?

EGR might help avoid detonation etc as well as be a smog thing for this truck. There are tubes & valves etc that can go bad and cause this issue. Now hold that thought, as the EGR can wait until you get a way to get more info or find a shop that can help.

That "plug" looking thing near the brake booster. That IS into the master cylinder casting or other component connected to the brakes, correct?

This would be a pressure switch. Since it is leaking, it needs to be replaced and that will probably take care of your brake light.

I love how a 'big truck Ford dealer' wouldn't have a clue about an '86....

The 370/429 "Lima" truck engines differ in a couple of ways from car 429s, but it's the same basic engine.

Get out the Yellow Pages and find a shop that works on these.

Numberdummy on this site will be able to direct you to a source for either a book or cd or dvd for parts info and possibly more.

Good luck.

You know it's funny you say it is a perssure switch, because that is what I told the dealership it might be.
They had every book, cd, and microfiche they could find in that building.
I guess if they knew what it was thay would not of passed it through the safety check.
I do hear a whistle when I am driving ever since I replaced the carb, and have again drove myself nuts replacing all kinds of vacuum hoses.
I do not get a whistle when I am parked and rev the engine, only when I am under load and driving.
