I have a 1977 F150 4x4. I recently installed a 3inch perf accessories body lift kit and I am having trouble trying to figure out how to make or purchase some front bumper brackets to raise the front bumper. Does anybody know of any brackets I am able to purchase or have you made some for your truck? The front bumper does not fit properly w/the body lift and if I cut it around the body will look like crap. Any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks
You either have to make your own brackets or cut the frame horn off and reweld it back on in the new spot. One of the biggest reasons I don't care for a body lift.
well throw up some pictures and maybe we can come up with some Idea to help you. I have never saw an issue other then the gap between the frame and body. And as to the gap people make dress up kits that tend to look ok.
Thanks guys, I got it taken care of. I made some spacers to put on top of the frame and then slot cut the bottom of the bumper to fit properly.
How do I post pictures?
I made two 3 inch (If thats what your lift is) by 3 inch round spacers for the top got longer bolts from Napa. and redrilled the holes 2 on the front of bumper.Could take some black pipe with 7/16 -1/2 inner diameter washers and bigger dia pipe and weld up some spacers
HOW DO I POST PICTURES? yeah, I used square tubing spacers, 3 inch. and longer carriage bolts. and large washers and new nuts for the lower bolts to just pinch the frame since it is not wide enough to give it a cleaner look.
