I've been researching Some of the 5 speed trannys and was wondering what you guys thought about them?
I'm gonna save up the money get one if they are worth it.
If I get one will the Bellhousing off my T-18 work? or would I need a new one?
I've got a 390 out of a 69 cougar in a 66' F250

There are no modern transmissions that will bolt up to a 390. Any will have to be run through a $600.00 adapter.
Don't let that statement stop you from looking though, one never knows what he can run up on and make work.
There is one poster that recommends a 5 spd. Clark from a mid size truck that will bolt up, but I have never looked into it.

TKO and the like will bolt up to an FE bell housing. You can get the correct length input shaft, or an $150 spacer to make the install.
Integral bell transmissions like the ZF won't bolt up, and since you can adapt the NV 4500 for far less, why would you pay $650 for an adaptor for of them?
