Map Pocket Trim Ring

Any ideas on where to get, or what to make out of, new map pocket trim rings?
I've only had one and that one is broken in half.

This is a hard one. You can find reproduction side pockets but you have to buy the whole thing, black only. I contacted the manufacturer but they wouldn't sell just the ring.
So I bought a plastic bond product, Q-Bond, and repaired the rings I had. Mine where in pieces Then I painted them silver.

Wondering if maybe I can bend some flat aluminum into the full shape.

It would be an interesting project, recall many years ago the subject came up, trying to find door pocket trims were hard to come by; at the time, the only option is to purchase the door pocket, which included the 'plastic' pocket trim. I have tossed more broken door pocket trim pieces than I want to admit to. I decied to purchase aluminum billet door pocket trim pieces from an FTE member many years ago, he took a piece of aluminum stock and milled it down to a solid door pocket trim piece, they were not cheap, have not seen them offered since; unfortuneately too costly finding an buyer? If one were able to take a piece of alum. stock and form it into a pocket trim piece, he/she may be able to make a few $?

I remember those Dave. They were not cheap. Still, as I think back, some times I kick myself in the backside for not getting a set.
If you have a water cutter guy close by, they can scan an original one and cut a new one from aluminum plate.
You would need to polish it yourself or find someone to do it. OR, hit it with some 'cleat coat'.

Aubrey-

I have those on some spare doors I have. I'll look and see if they're any good or not and post pictures back this evening.

Dave, was it you selling those trim pieces? That's some serious cash but nice pieces.

If your repair job was nice enough to paint, and look decent, then Hydro Dipping, also called Water Transfer Printing might be an option.

This may actually be a different process than Hydro Dipping, but results are results...

Liquid Chrome ? HydroGraphic Solutions

Wonder if these are still available?
This post is probly more appropriate for the 'classified' forum. I have been hesitant in selling the Aluminum pocket trim pieces since I am currently faced with the dilemma of deciding whether to restore the 65 CC; if so, after tossing a couple sets of the plastic pocket trim pieces, I will keep the aluminum Billet. Having said that, if I decide to sell the 65 CC then I will include the original plastic door pocket trim and find a home for the Aluminum pocket trim, admittedly pricey but considering cost, to include of shipping, it would be a wash.

These pieces aren't as simple as cutting them out with a water jet cutter. They are machined with a recess in the top side and also a recess in the back. Machining work is required on both sides of this. It has to start out with a 5/8" or maybe 3/4" thick piece of aluminum to get them made properly. I considered having some of these made but it isn't cost prohibitive to do. I would have to have at least 20, maybe 30 sets made to get the cost down and I am sure that they would still be in that $300 price range. I do have the 61-64 step well trim pieces so I have a good idea what it costs to have the jigs made, CNC programing and the machining costs.
20-30 sets would probably be a 3-4 year supply before they were all gone.
