Finally got exhaust installed. What to do with tip

I finally got my 5'' exhaust installed from MKO. But the exhaust itself goes all the way out behind the wheel. What do i do about the tip that i purchased. Do I cut off the exhaust and put the tip on? Please help me

How far does it stick out? I just slid mine on until I was happy with where is sat. No cutting required, but a lot of the pipe was up in the tip. But, I have the MBRP system with a double-wall tip, so it's not like you can see it. The MKO may be completely different...

Same here with my 4" MBRP kit. I had to use a rubber mallet and a block of wood to install my tip and tapped it in to my liking. After some miles, the entire inside of the tip and the exhaust pipe was black so you can't tell how far it went up.

I have the same MKO. I just slid the tip on. Some cut the pipe back for more of a megaphone effect. Not necessary though.

My tip, is sitting on someones lawn tractor, on the hood, posing as "the redneck bugle". Looks really funny there. I just prefer the look of exhaust pipe over a tip. Just my personal preference though.

I didn't get a tip with my MKO. Maybe I had to order it with one. But my 5" just BARLY makes it out from under the bed. Maybe I put it on wrong. It was tight to move it around.

Rob what size tip you get? When I get one I was thinking the 6"

30 seconds with the saz-all will do the job. I cut mine so it would fit and look right. The tip exits in the perfect place to get hung up and bumped on rocks and such, if you go wheelin'.

I'd like to see a pic of that yon-deer with a 6" stainless stack!

Here are a few pics of what I did with the MKO 5" and 6"x12" MBRP dual wall tip. I cut 9" off the tail pipe to get the tip to exit where I wanted. The dual wall tip wouldn't slide over the tail pipe more than 3" and I didn't want to beat it on there.

I know I did cut mine off before installing the tip. Don't know how much. MBRP 5in is what I got. I cut it so the end of the tip is about even with the outside of the tire. can't really see it it the pics. Heck, it isn't even black yet! Later that evening it was!!! I did use a block of wood and a sledge hammer to get the tip on also... Took a bit of beating but it isn't coming off!

I put my tip on and played with the length and angle. Once I was happy I made a little mark on the exhaust pipe slipped off the tip measured back a couple of inches and sawed the extra pipe off. It now ends right where the flare starts and you can't see it.

I'm thinking about getting a 7" tip (18" length). I have 4" turbo back exhaust. Some say they dont like the look but I have a 5" tip and would like to have it a little bigger. Not to mention I would think that with an 18" long 7" tip, it would sound more throaty.

What do you guys think?

I have the MKO 5" on mine and I ended up cutting it back a little to get it to come out at an angle instead of straight out the side. My tip is a 6" x 18".

Here are a couple pics.

Edit: Oops didnt realize how old this thread was till I posted the pics!
