Tilt front end on a 50 Ford F1

HI Scott,
I have a full front tilt on my 51. All the original sheet metal. It was started by my dad when he had the truck, and I finished it when I inherited the vehicle. It has been quite a study and quite a learning curve. I've ironed out 99% of the problems and I would be happy to share the design features with you and help you with your mod if you like.
I have a file full of annotated photos of the conversion that is too big to import onto this site, but if you will PM me your real e-mail address, I will be happy to send it to you and answer any questions you might have.
Best
Julie!

I got your address....and those of a couple other folks wanting the info as well.
I reviewed the word document describing how I built it with the annotated pictures and I have incorporated a few things since I wrote that that are good to know. So give me a day or so to update it and take a few new pictures and I send it right to you - before the weekend!!!!!

Hi Everyone!
I sent out the e-mails to those of you who asked for my notes and pictures of the full front tilt tonight 10-23-08 about 9pm PDT. If you asked for it and didn't get it, write back to me and I'll re transmit it. It was pretty big (about 3mb)
J!
Ps. AX - shoot back when you had less than 10 posts you were probably still "AB" tee hee!

Hi Guys,
I forgot to mention something in the write-up that's kind of important.
I mentioned that I installed the Firgelli 400 # rated actuator because of the added margin of lift, and it preserving the life of the lift - true. But also one of the main reasons for picking that model was that the 400 pound actuator is the only model that has its motor located off to the side instead of vertically in line with the extension shaft. Thus it is the only model that the motor doesn't interfere or restrict the swing of the actuator by hitting the radiator when full up or hitting the lower support bracket when fully down.
Here's the link. They aren't showing the 12 inch for some reason but they have it - it's in the product specs. If not, I'd go with the 18 inch and make the carrier 3 inches taller. It would open a little more that way as well.

I am also interested in your write up. I have a 53 F-250 that has already been converted to a steel tilt front but it is strictly manual. Any good pictures or information on how to setup an electric or hydraulic actuators to make this easier would be really appreciated.

Thanks loads.
BTW, I am a newbe on this board as well so couldn't sent you a PM.

Hi Gary,
I sent out the files a few minutes ago to both you and "Divermo."
With the write up and the pictures it's a pretty big e-mail. If you're e-mail provider bombs it, let me know and I'll try and split it up and send it in pieces.
If you have any questions or need any additional pictures, let me know!
Julie
PS: I guess we'll see your Bronco's here next Sunday to decide the AFC West Championship - thanks to the Buffallo Bills today!!!!!!!
Go Chargers!!
