I do not get paid by anyone to do this either. dam you, take my money.

It's my choice, my hobby..strange as that may seem to some of y'all. glutten for punishment

I'm not FTEpartsguy.com = that's Ed Olson @ Parr Ford in Bremerton WA. no thats me.

The link to FTEpartsguy is on this page among the FTE sponsors. www.ftepartsguy.com

FTE has 4 Ford dealer parts department sponsors that give discounts on parts off the actual Ford MSRP. shhhhhh I thought I was the only one.

You don't even need the part number, just contact the sponsor, request what you want. Most of the time, number dummy is a stud for pre 80 stuff, after 80 no problem for me to look parts up.

Or post the request in a new thread. I can look up the number(s), price them out, search for the parts if obsolete.

Posting the info into a new thread allows other members to take advantage of the info.

Why do I do all this? Because as I typed above, most dealers today could give a rats azz about older vehicles. I love older vehicles.

I'm also a collector..and I know from experience what peeps go thru trying to get parts for older vehicles.

If y'all think parts are hard to find for a 1980's Ford truck, just try and find them for a 1934 Packard!

Thanks for your help Bill, aka numberdummy, without you doing this for FTE members alot of the people here would never know where to look for discounted or obsoleted parts.

Ed

Need 4 spd shift **** & OD insert

This shift **** IS available because the various Ford parts depots scattered across the US have a total of 430 in stock.

The depots closest to you are: Atlanta depot, which has 27 / Greensboro depot has 13 / Memphis depot has 17.

This info is taken directly from the FoMoCo parts locator system.

There's no dealer in MS that stocks it, so it will have to be ordered. Shouldn't take more than a coupla days.

Here's the Ford part number and pricing....

E2TZ7213B .. Gear Shift ****

MSRP: $7.92 / FTEpartsguy.com price: $5.70.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So 8 years later, I too need these same two parts, both the 4 speed shift **** and the Overdrive insert; they're for a 1987 Ford E 150 Econoline (Blue exterior and interior) with a 4.9L./300c.i. engine with a 4 speed manual floor shift. How's my luck, Sir? Here's the part numbers in the thread above:
Shifter ****: E2TZ7213B
Insert (2 part numbers were given in the thread)
E2TZ7N280D
E2TZ7N280A
Shifter ****: E2TZ-7213-B - there aren't many of these around anymore... around 24 to be exact...
Collector's Auto Supply 800-414-4462 has 22 of them.
~
For the insert, you need the -B variant for an 82/87 E-series van...
Insert: E2TZ-7N280-B - there are also only 24 of these things available, too.
Green Sales Company 1-800-543-4959 has 17 of them.
I should mention I checked with only one parts-checking source so there very well could be a few others out there but my experience says it'd only be a few - point being, there aren't hundreds available like was the case 8 years ago.
Another option is that ANYTHING and EVERYTHING eventually shows up on Ebay. Once you have reliable Part Numbers (i.e. one from NumberDummy), the search is half way finished. Here is the shifter ball:
E2TZ 7213 B Ford Genuine Part Shift **** Handle | eBay
and an Insert (for the non OD tranny): Ford Transmission Shift Ball Insert E2TZ 7N280 D 1982 1987 F150 4 SPD | eBay
In this case, that particular shifter ball was just recently bought (sorry ).
Found the Overdrive shift pattern inserts & ordered 2, but neither Collector's nor Green Sales had the shift handle **** itself.
We've discussed this before, kiddo. They list 22 of everything (regardless of what the part number is), but usually don't have anything!
For the insert (1982/87 Econoline with 4 speed Overdrive), you need: E2TZ-7N280-B
E2TZ-7213-B (Green Sales does not have any) =
NOS PARTS LTD in Waxahachie TX has 1 = 972-937-2201.
NOS PARTS SOURCE in Olathe KS has 1 = 913-220-5746.
FORD PARTS ONLY in Bayamon PR has 1 = 787-786-9180.
GILBERT FORD in Okeechobee FL has 2 = 863-763-2121.
PERRY PITRE FORD in Eunice LA has 2 = 337-457-4111.
ALBERIC FORD in Carolina PR has 3 = 767-522-6200 x 205.
5 additional US Ford dealers have 1 each.
-----------------------------------------------
E2TZ-7N280-B =
MANDERBACH FORD in Temple PA has 2 = 610-929-3659.
MCLAUGHLIN MOTORS in Sumter SC has 2 = 803-773-1481.
GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 17 = 800-543-4959.
7 additional US Ford dealers have 1 each.
Heh.... Sorry, totally forgot about that 22-of-everything thing, it's been a while since I've gone and looked up parts.
BTW somebody recently closed, I guess the owner died and is wife is trying to get rid of everything in bulk; I forget who, though.
Wesley Obsolete Parts: Her husband died quite a while ago, she was running the store with a little help from a former parts guy. She recently sold out to a fellow who only sells on ebay.
Parts International (as listed on PartsVoice), aka NOS Parts Warehouse (as listed on rearcounter) has also sold out, but to whom, they aren't saying.
Betcha the "1" in stock is maybe just a placeholder? Ya give 'em a call and they don't have it. Not as bad as showing 22 on balance I guess.
