88 hubs

I just got an 88 with manual locking front hubs. The **** to engage them is plastic and is broken. I've got an 86 F-150 laying around with automatic hubs. Would these hubs fit? If not is there like aftermarket metal ones I can get?

Get a set of warn or mile maker, auto hubs are junk and I'm sure they won't fit. The bronc should have a D-35 frontend and the F-150 should have a D-44.

Your 88 will have a dana 28 front end unless someone has upgraded it to the Dana 35. Your F-150 will have a dana 44 front end and the lock outs will not work with either the dana 35 or dana 28. Go to a junk yard and look for a set on a Bronco II or Ranger 83-89. 90 could be either 28 or 35. The dana 28 has a different spline count than the dana 35 so you need to stay with what you have. It would not hurt to keep an extra one. Your old one might be good and just need the plastic center peice so you might want to keep it. I think new your looking at 150-170 a pair and junk yards should go for around $25 each.

try a 4 wheel shop, $70 or thereabout for a set for a 79 gmc 1/2 ton, though check the bolts, ones that came with it are way soft.

That is true for 1/2 ton (dana 44) lock outs. But they will not work on his dana 28. If you have a source for brand new dana 28 or dana 35 lock outs for $70 please let me know. There are a bunch of folks I know who would like that info.

Lee I don't know of any metal ones. If they are stock factory lock outs I will put the word out and see if someone has an extra plastic **** laying around if you are interested. Shouldn't be much to get it to you. I don't have any dana 28 stuff. Just 35, and 44.
