I just went to autozone to have my truck scanned for a code after my engine light came on yesterday afternoon. The scanner found this code:
PO341 "The pcm has determined that the voltage signal from camshaft position sensor "A" is out of range for the current engine operating conditions. (BAnk 1 or single sensor)"
Definition
Cam sensor condition
Explanation
The camshaft position sensor signal is monitored for errors
Probable causes
1. Cam sensor defective
2. Check connector and wiring to sensor
3. Engine mechanical condition-timing belt/chain out of time
4. Cylinder misfire - check ignition system for faults - plugs, wires, coils
Can somebody please tell me if this is serious and i could do damage driving it before i can take it to a dealer or is it just a warning? I can tell you that my truck is definitely not missing or anything like that.
Second, i just had my remote starter put in a little over a week ago, could the shop that installed it *****ed something up during the install???
Since you didn't have a problem before the install. It would lead me to believe it might have something to do with it. Disconnect the remote starter and clear the code. If it doesn't come back you have located the problem.
They could have partially disconnected the connector during the install. Check all connections.
