97-engine missing out & smoking
The problem started all at once. Ran good kiled it & then shortly later started up, was missing out like not getting enough fuel, & died. Changed fuel filter, ran good for about 20 miles & then would only ideal at full acceleration. Checked fuel filter again, was clear, ran some transmission fluid in fuel filter & started up. Would iseal up to 2,000 rpm & then miss out like not getting enough fuel & would smoke also, but the smoke was not coming from the transmission fluid that I put into the filter canister. Done ran enough for it all to be used up, Know when start up will ideal fine but when trying to reb up the engine it would start missing outs & not reb up & will continue to smoke. Need help. What all can I check out. Also is there an electric fuel pump in the fuel tanks or at the tank switch valve?

thanks for the reply glasseater, already changed out the cps, did not help any. Its acting like not getting enough fuel to run or could the problem be in the fuel injector pump or even in the injectors. If so, how can I check out one of these without putting an the shop. Or any thoughs of any anything to check out.
