I Have A 1999 F-450 Psd Made In 03/99 If The Truck Sits Overnight Its Almost Impossable To Start Any Temp. Outside. Plug It In For 2 Hours And It Starts But Very Rough.you Can Put The Pedal To The Floor With No Gain In Rpms.when It Gets To Operating Temp.it Runs Close To Normal With A Stutter Like A Gasser Missing. 7mpg Smoothes Out When Turbo Kicks In. I Have Ae Scan Tool Pulls No Codes But Cct #8 4.1 Had A New Injector Installed In # 8 O Rings Seals Gasket Also New. Good Icp Pressure Clean Ebp Tube. Any Ideas Thanks
So it has a miss throughout the entire operating range (bone cold to fully warm)? How many miles? GPR been replaced or ohmed out? Glowplugs? Full of good, clean oil? Just trying to narrow it down here.
Glow Plugs And Controller Good New Oil And Filter New Fuel Filterchecked Everything I Can Think Of W/ae. Unplugged Icp No Change For Better. M.a.p Good Hpop Good Pressure ,good Levelits Not Seeping Out.
I would check the GPR 1st. You can either test for power or jump out the two large terminals to see if she starts better. Like Will had said also. Is the oil clean and full? Proper type? Have you checked the level on the HPOP when it won't start?
i pulled codes with auto enginuity scan tool.the only code i get is cct fail on #8.this injector was just replaced with a new seal kit and a new valve cover gasket .after sitting all night it starts very hard, start stall start stall, finally start and run rough.push the go peddal to the floor and nothing,no rpm's rising.this happins at any outside temperature.truck stays this way til normal operating temp.it has new oil and filter new fuel filter, glow plug relay and glow plugs ok.hpop at good level in morning after sitting all night.ic pressure good, mass air flow good no change with icp unplugged, good batteries ,good voltage.engine still stumbles a little at normal engine temp.10 times worse when cold.it starts a little easier when plugged in for a hour or two.
This may be a shot in the dark, but, some of the CPS have been known to throw codes for the #8 injector. Have you ohemd out the UVCH to see if maybe the connector is loose? Or can that be done with the AE. I apologize if that sounded dumb but I'm not familire with what AE can and can't do.
I'm not sure, but I'll throw a couple of things out there. Have you tried unplugging the MAP sensor to see if that makes a difference? Does unplugging the EOT (oil temp) sensor to see if it affects anything? Any whistling noises from a closed EBPV?
Have you buzz tested the injectors to make sure you don't have a weak one when the engine is cold that clears up when the oil is warm?
i guess i better pull the cover and see. i was just looking elseware before i pulled the cover.is there anything else to look for while i have the valve cover off. would you know if the uvch would throw a code.
