newer truck question

hey all i just came over from having a 05 f250 5.4 to my newly aquired 07 f350 psd truck is mint all around 60k on her. only thing i noticed in the engine bay under the battery on the passenger side where the tube coming off the intercooler conntects i see oily looking dirt residue all over that coupler can anyone shed some light on that as to what might be causing that.

The oil from your ccv is seeping out the boot connection. Can you see what color the inner lining of the boot is. If it is not orange, you probably should get the updated boot. If it is orange, you should take the boot off and clean it up with some brake cleaner. Rough the surfaces a little with steel wool. Spray the mating surfaces with hair spray, re-connect and torque the clamps to 9 ft-lbs. You should also look into the ccv re-route mod to keep the oil out of the intake system.
