I know i'm a pain in the butt. I got my new wheel installed today and low and behold the horn relay works! The problem now is the horn itself actually i have dual horns and niether works. Has anyone tried to repair these? do they come apart? I tried some elecrical cleaner and penetrating oil but nothing still
They are the stock horns at least one is and would like to have it work any thoughts?

The horns are basically the same and will interchange with the following:
The originals had a nut on the horns to adjust the pitch. The horns work via a brush and insulator (thru 1970) that fits into the outside of the steering wheel underneath the horn ring (or button).
When you swapped wheels, what happened to those two parts? What steering wheel did you use?
The 1971/77 wheels have a black vinyl horn pad that contains the switch.& wires..that plugs into a loom inside the column.
Standard Operating Procedure: It never fails that when swapping steering wheels, that always causes problems with the operation of the horns.
Thanks Bill, Found my problem took the one that didn't look original apart and it was full of rust not much left of it. I'm thinking the other is the same oh well! Kind of looking at the air horns now, Like i need it people just stay out of my way in this truck. In my dakota they pull in front of me all the time.

Go to a junkyard, look for a 1970's Cadillac, which used "trumpet" horns.
1970's Lincolns used similar horns..Ford called 'em "bugles."
You won't need air horns, after you install trumpets or bugles!
