No, it could be the motor (or even some scuffed/sharted wiring) but most likely the switch. Get the switch out and check it as 87XLT suggested above. That will diagnose the switch.

It's a reverse polarity thing. Just the one motor to move forward & back.
OOPS, my bad heres the correct info for testing the switch.
Remove the connector from the switch & connect your ohm meter to pin one (ground pin) & pin 2 of the switch.
Operate the switch in the "forward" direction. This should close the circuit.
Do the same between pin 1 & pin 8 & move the switch to the "rearward" direction. The circuit should close.
If not the switch is bad.

ok sounds good... but which one is pin 1, 2,8, etc?
