Front Sway Bar End Link Install

Front Sway Bar End Link Install
Got a 99 F-350 4x4 and I was replacing the end links on the front sway bar and something just dosen't look right.
Question. Does the stud on the end link point in toward the center of the truck or does it point out? This is the frame mount for the end link. If they point in, the end link is positioned under the frame rail with about an 1/8" of clearance between the top of the end link and the frame. If the stud points toward the outside of the truck there is plenty of clearance cause the end link is between the frame rails but the end links don't really install straight.
When I took it apart the end links were installed with the stud pointing in toward the center so the top of the end link was under the frame rail with about no clearance.
Does this make sense?

Thanks! That's a big help. I thought that was better than the previous install.
Now the bottom part of the end link that attaches to the sway bar. They seem to fit best on the inside of the sway bar. Is that correct.
