OK guys this is my first time on a forum.
I have a 1997 F350 7.3L and I was having a starting problem. I finally put a volt meter on the relay feeding the glow plugs and discovered that the power was coming on after a 20 to 30 second delay. This does not correspond with my dash indicator at all. I assume there is a time delay control somewhere. Could someone help me locate it. Is it adjustable or do I simply replace it?
Are you sure it is "going through it" or stopping going through it. If you are reading from one post to the other and the volt meter shows voltage after 20 to 30 seconds, then you are seeing a voltage differance when the relay breaks connection and everything is working correctly. If you are checking across the GP side of the relay and ground, then you have another problem and we will need to look else where for your problem.

That is THE BEST way I have ever seen it written. I couldn't have said it better myself.
I got a "plug in" volt meter into the cigarette lighter all the time and you can know when the glow plug relay is working and when it is not... After start up, when it is cold, the voltage will read about 11 volts.. It will stay at 11 volts for about 1 to 2 minutes (roughly).. Once the engine is warm and next time you start it, the relay won't be turn on at all.. the voltage will run 14.3 volts.. I don't any delay on mine...
