I just ordered my full load F350 Platinum dually on Jan.30th. Right off the bat I was told there were delays on the 5th wheel/gooseneck prep. Have any of you ran into this problem?
What other delays have you encountered, and how did affect your wait time?

 

Thats the first I have heard of delays due to the 5th wheel hitch prep package... I ordered mine on the 23rd, and wasn't told any delays. I was told 8-10 weeks.

 

I ordered on 1/28 and was told no delays and 8 weeks, maybe sooner into Canada

 

Dealers use fabricated delays to explain away their lack of allocation in many cases. I ordered mine on Jan 11th and it's ETA is Feb 28th. It has all the options that other dealers have said were a delay including the 5th prep.

 

I'm dealing with that right now. Ordered 11/21/16 and still no VIN. I was told there were "major item" constraints, but they never responded to my purchaser as to what those restraints were.


Doesn't hold much water when you see people order almost identical trucks after you and already have them to drive around in...

 

Well, i'll give them 2-3 weeks and inquire again on any updates.

 

Ordered 05 Dec, VIN 13 Jan, build is scheduled for next week, ETA is 28 Feb. Have all the equipment that has been reported as "delays." If ETA holds, will be right at 12 weeks. Exactly what I was told and expected. In real estate, the golden rule is location, location, location. When ordering a vehicle, I'm finding the golden rule is allocation, allocation, allocation.

 

So crazy to hear about what dealers say are delays. I ordered 12/30, had VIN by 1/13, Window Sticker today, build date next week and ETA of 3/5. I hope it all holds as this will be exactly the 6-8 weeks dealer told me. I also have the 5th wheel prep on my truck

 

It seems like order fulfillment time can be kind of a crap shoot. My first order was submitted in September. Due to a mistake on the order the dealer tried to change it but it was locked in. So I cancelled that order (with the dealer) and reordered in the first week of December. BOTH trucks arrived last week within two days of each other. The only difference is one has the camper package and the other doesn't.

Addition: My dealer sent me weekly updates. I never had to prompt him for them.
