HI Max,

I was reading the responses on the post and I have a suggestion. I'm not saying this to belittle, but rather to suggest that this all appears to be very new to you. We can express procedures to you because we have done these things for many years and a good number of times. My father taught me how to do this stuff and it takes a long time gain that understanding and knowledge. I find that internet learning has lots of holes in it and taking advantage of someones experience to learn is much more effective when they are there to analyse what is happening, walk you through it, and answer questions on the spot.

I say this because not only with the kinds of problems you are having you can damage your truck if done incorrectly, but also, there is a certain amount of inherent danger in some of this. One can easily slice open a hand, or God forbid, start a fire.

Perhaps when you are brand new to this as we all were, it would be prudent to have a friend with a little more mechanical experience over some saturday and help out. I think it will also save you a lot of frustration.

Best,
Julie!

No I totally understand that Julie. I have been working on this truck and just doing what I can through the help of people on here but also through the help of an experienced Air Force mechanic who works on cars and trucks as a hobby and through the early help of a man who owns an automotive shop. I have been trying to research as much as possible through the internet but also through informational books and the shop manual. I am using this as a supplement to those things but I also appreciate all of your advice because I know this can sometimes be dangerous work. Thank you for your time.
