Winter Oil Recommendations

Am running 15W-40 Motorcraft at the moment and live in Western Nevada. Temp is getting colder and avg winter lows can be in the single digits when it gets cold with highs in the 40-50F range. Already noticed the truck does not like cold wx starts ( temp in 30-40 range). Do I need to switch to a 10w-30 as recommended in the owners manual and if so what are decent brands that are readily available? Am considering synthetic but would like others opinion.

Winter weight oil does help with cold starts.
Be shure its diesel diesel rated.

Test your GP system. (gpr,gp's, wiring)

I wish my winter temps only got that cold. Overnight temp last night was 10*F. Soon to get cold! sometimes -40 or more. I think I'll be going synthetic this winter.

I have used rotella 10W30, 5w40 and 15w40 in Michigan. 10W30 is fine as long as temps don't get up to 50 or so while running it IMO. I know Bill runs that or 5W30. I smoked a turbo running 10W30 but there were other factors. I would run rotella 5W40 sythetic
