ok i posted bout trouble shooting an oil leak and i found it. my hpop is leaking and filling up the V of my motor and oil is everywhere. i cleaned it all really really good and the only place i can see is that their is a leak is at the bottom of the pump. i ran the motor and then looked arround the lines and wiped my finger arround the plug in the back and nothing. i took a mirror and looked arround and its comming from below the snap ring in the back.. anny suggestions. dose it sit on the motor where thrir could be a oring leaking?? let me know what yall come up with. is it hard to take out and fix if i have to
You're talking about the large end plate with the snap ring right next to the plug?
Is that plate loose? I'd tie a rag around the HPO lines to make sure they're not spraying oil up under the HPOP. The plug is awfully close to the plate with the snap ring. Are you sure it's not leaking from the plug?
I have read reports about leaks from the "non-serviceable" plug (bottom left corner of the pic). Is that dry?
I think I'm in the same boat, my HPOP is leaking around the bottom and the stealership told me today that it is the gasket around the bottom of the pump. Also told me that its $623!!!! Is this an easy fix for an amateur, or should I leave this one for the pros?
well sor it took so long to post back but i took it to the shop and the dealer said that its leaking from the non-serviceable plus and some where else on the bottom. luckley they messed with the pump a while back when i had it in their and their gunna fix it. i got to get a new pump though
thanks ron ive just had so many probs in the past month im just gunna take the rape and have the dealer fixer. great write up though. i appericate all the help
