I would try and find a complete vehicle. That way you have all the little things like the clutch master and slave cylinder, transmission parts, accessories and such. This is what i will be doing. I just drove a 93 D250 home yesterday. I bought the truck for $3500, I should be able to sell the parts I do not need for a $1000 or so. Just an engine around here goes for $2000.

It will be going in 65 F350 Crew Cab. It has a 460 in it now. I got over 20mpg on the trip home yesterday with the 5 speed manual.

The Dodge has air conditioning and cruise control. Adding those two options from the aftermarket could get expensive.

I plan on starting a thread when I start the project in a few weeks.

 

So did you do the swap? I'm getting ready to try putting my sheet metal onto a 1993 7.3l non turbo doner truck.

If you look in the April 2009 issue of Diesel Power Magazine they have a Cummins early Ford conversion. It's in the section called "Readers Diesels". The truck is a 1961 Ford F100. The guys name is James Knight, he lives in Geneva Nebraska. The truck has a 5.9L Cummins with a NV4500 Transmission.
