Power windows

1997 F150 XLT 4x4 4.6 V*

Can someone tell me where the power window relay/s is? both windows were in the down position saturday and when I went to roll them up neither one works. both passenger and driver side when you try to put them up with the switches wont go up. I use to be able to hear some clicking when you rolled the window up by the driver door or fuse box area....but nothing now when you hit the button.

I check the big 30 fuse in the engine compartment.....that was the only place I knew where to check things. Is there a fuse in the cabin are or just he big 30 in the engine compartment? Really weird how this happened. both motors work fine.

Parts stores have relays for the truck, but I cant find where relay is at.

Would I need to replace the regulators? I saw they have one for the left/right side for the truck as well.

I'm really stumped but need to get these fixed.

Thanks,
Andy

The only relay for the windows is the "one touch relay" that goes to the one touch button. If you do not use this button, then the relay is not in the equation.

Fuse 25, 30 amp feeds the power windows through the accessory delay relay. I would pull the switches in the doors, and make sure you have power on the lightblue/black wire. This is the hot wire that feeds all the window switches.

If you have power there, I would check for voltage on the motor wires when you activate the switches. If you have voltage, I would suspect the motors. If you don't, I would suspect one of the switches.

I replaced both switches for the power windows on the driver side, even replaced the wiring. I went past the spot where the black grounds come together. Finished up and nothing. No clicking near the fuse box like there use to be.

It's not the motors because I put direct voltage to them to get them to go back up and they had no issue.

Other suggestion?
Someone mentioned check the main ground for the switches, where is that ground located on the frame etc? I dougt it came loose or that it is causing this issue since the power mirrors and power locks work, but figured I'd check it as well if I can find it.

Thanks,

Conceivably it's the switch ground on the drivers door where it passes from the door to the kick panel. In some wiring schemes, if the drivers door has a switch to override the passenger door switch (as most do) that single ground wire CAN make both windows stop working.
