I have only used my 4x4 a couple of times and everytime i use it, it will get stuck in 4x4 mode and will not come out. I have to wait for about 10-15 min before it does it on its own. Any ideas???
Yea what hubs. i am i the process of changing out my Automatic hubs to Warn Manuals. I would get stuck too, in my 95 Bronco with the Auto's. They would take 10 feet to ingage, and if you switched to reverse they would unlock for a nother 10.5 feet. So they required rolling(they sucked) I will be glad when I finally get these Warns on. allright theres my 2 cents.

My point exactly! Get the manual hubs. Getting out to lock them in is way less trouble than getting stuck. If you must use the auto hubs, be in 4x4 mode BEFORE you get stuck!
I had the same problem with my automatic hubs on my 95 F150. Changed over to Warm manuals they work great now. Ford couldn't give me an answer on the problem and neither could the dealership.
I have a 99 F-150 and had to use roadside assistance to pick mine up. The auto-locking-electronic hubs would not disengage at all. I had to drive it about 5 miles. While driving, the speedo kept pegging, the tach wouldn't work, and the 4X4 light kept clicking on and off. Having to turn too tight just made it worse. Does this sound like an electrical problem? I get my truck back from the dealership tomorrow, and will update then.
Hey guys, I don't think it matters either way. If he doesn't put it in four-by mode at least once a month to keep the hubs lubed, it still runs the chance of getting stuck in four-by mode. I make it a ritual to put it in four-by at least once a month. It probably wouldn't hurt to make sure there is plenty of grease in the hubs as well, if not it could be time for a replacement.
