I'm new to any transmission work, but I'm looking for a C6 to rebuild this winter to eventually put in my '76 F250 with a 390. I have found a C6 for rebuild locally that came out of a '66 Thunderbird with a 390, are there variations from year to year that would limit me from using this transmission if I bought it to rebuild?
Any insight as to what years/vehicles that would have a transmission suitable to be a simple bolt-up replacement for my current transmission?
My current C6 is ok for now, but I would like to gain the experience of rebuilding and be prepared if/when my current C6 spits the bit.
