Computer tech people?
Good luck.

Also, DO NOT trust all of those stupid popups that say "your computer is infected or it has spyware and needs to be cleaned...Click here for the program." If you get those...Don't even click on the X at the top right to close it. Use task manager to kill that session. Also, alot of the "cheap" and free spyware programs are cheap and free cause they are paid to allow some company's popups and spyware through.
Symantec, Network Associates (McAfee), TrendMicro are just 3 legit companies of many that have good software. You may have to pay a little more for them, but it is comforting to know that your system won't get hacked or your personal information won't get sent out to someone who shouldn't have it.
HP, Compaq, Dell, Gateway...MOST use the same "inside" parts. Compatibility is the main issue why alot of companies have "problem children". Not tested enough. I have found that looking at what is out there ALOT is what to get. It has been through the wringer and the bugs worked out...LIke buying 1st and 2nd model year vehicles....I won't touch. Too much new stuff.
If you still want help with your system, email me and I can give you a hand.
LMAO if it's working for ya
let us know as soon as it breaks!!!
One scanner and one Virus scan is enough although I would add a personal firewall. If you have more than one of each ...disable all of them, then see if it works. If not, go to MIcrosnot's web site, click download, and do a search for the version of IE you want to use. Reinstall it. MANY MANY MANY Spyware programs and virus scan programs will place their own version of operating DLL's on your system rewriting the ones that were already there regardless of the version, author etc. (I use primarily MS software I jsut like to say their name that way.)

But I only run the 32 bit version of IE7 the 64 has a way of upsetting me...
Also, I used to run Norton corporate edition, as the tech guy at my work was very generous with the software. I switched to Avast as it 'seems' to do a better job, but I really dont know so I just roll with the free and easy one.
I never listened to those stupid pop ups so no worries
But I hear ya about the 1st and second model year business, I just figured I need the computer to last me about 4 years, so if i have to buy a new computer I figured might as well get one that should remain somewhat adequate 4 years from now. In retrospect, should've got the mac lol.
But if you know how to get HP or best buy nerd brigade or w/e they are called to cut thru the garbage and fix my computer quick it would be greatly appreciated!
And I too would love a MAC...Pricey...but worth it.
See if there is some sort of store policy, or company "vision" thats puts a time limit on their repair times. Maybe you can play the "30 minutes or its free" card.
