Just finished up installing a MagnaFlow 4" turbo-back exhaust. Installation was a breeze. My only complaint is it sounds more mellow than the stock exhaust with a muffler delete pipe that I cut out. I've got to loose the magnaflow muffler that came with the kit. Anybody have a part #. I checked there website but came up empty.
you are hearing it from the cab. And I have to agree somewhat, at idle and very mild acceleration the Mag muffler can be considered tame but not at all stock sounding, once into the throttle I think you will find it to sound much better than without the muff.
When you are really accelerating, you will find the mag muffler to be a much better note than straight pipe.
Straight pipe is raspy and anoying during accelration, it sounds kinda like a trumpet compared to with the muffler.
Been there, done that.
but to each his own I guess
I went for a drive after installing it. Got on it plenty! I lost all the throaty sound I had when I got on it with just a muff-delete on stock pipe. Any other thoughts. Not happy with the sound at all. Any other opinion's? Part # for muff-delete. Thanks
Made a phone call today from dealer I purchased kit through. No 4" muffler delete pipe available through Magnaflow. He said they were working on one. As Benchwrench mentioned on end should be flanged. I like that idea, that way I could reinstall the muffler if I wanted at a later date. Anybody know where I could find one? Out of town till Wed, not able to measure the length muffler. Thanks
What you want is a 32" section of 4" pipe, one end flanged. If you call John at Hottexhaust.com and tell him what you want, I'm sure he'd fix you right up.
He's always been good to me.
