Thoughts on guages

Did anyone ever thing of doing some hood mounted gauge pods on their PSD?

Might be neat and unique, then you don't have to do any of that firewall and pillar tear down.

I thought about it but i want to do it with a crowl hood. The mechanical high pressure oil and fuel pressure would be easy. I think the guages in teh crowl hood would be cool.

Well, I cannot agree with you on that one. I'm not into cowel hoods at all. I think they look dorky. More into ram air for me.

I was thinkin 2 or 3 gauges right out in front of the driver.

i seen an nova that had a tach like that and it looked good almost looked like a little air scoop with the tach mounted in it looked factory but i don't know. i like the cowl hood idea it could be done to look very nice, an 2 inch cowl hood would do just fine. im not a fan of big monster gauges

I know some GTO's had them. The Judge did.

I just really don't dig the pillar gauges. Trying to find some ways to avoid them.
I also do not like large ones. Functionality is more important though, I don't want a cheep inaccurate gauge either.

I am not sure how good they are, but there is a digital guage that supposedly reads everything except pyro from the port under the dash. (you can install a pyro to work with this guage) I was thinking of doing that and just having one gauge to worry about. there is some more room for flexibility as far as mounting goes when you don't have to put in multiple guages. I don't like the pillar pod either.

I love analog anything.
I love dials, switches, buttons. all that fun stuff. Digital stuff is cool, but its just so boring.

The gauge that you reference can't be mounted on the hood as it requires manual manipulation to change the readings from one area to another, as I understand it.

you can mount gauges to the slots in the cowl on your truck by the windshield wipers
