okay so a few months i got a sound system put in the truck thought it was a nice job but it came out to a ****y job so today i was pulling the system out. so i pulled out the stock radio. and when i put it back in the damn ting wont turn on! anyone know what might be the problem!
Did you plug the damned thing in? Did the radio ever work before? Are you experiencing any other electrical problems? There are several issues answering your question. Did the folks that installed the "new" system cut and redirect power? Did they demonstrate that it worked after their work work was done?
We're glad to help, but.... uhhh... I don't know where to go with this.
yeah the radio worked before and after the installation. the only splices they did was for the rc wire. and the audio to be able to send it to the amp and they showed it worked but didn show me how they did it. the radio just stopped working when i put it back into the dash. i pulled it out again to make sure all the connections and everything was in place and it was. when i was pushing it back into the dash again i accidentally hit the Eject and the cd came out so theres power. but when i turn the key on and even start the beast, it doesnt turn on like show the stations or time
I'm not an expert at stereo installations, but here are my thoughts. I believe there are actually two power wires, one that is always hot (for memory fuctions such as the clock and retaining preset radio stations in memory, that sort of thing) and one that is hot only when the key is on. It sounds as if these maybe got switched or one is not hot anymore. Check the fuses and connections for both.
Blow it off...come down for a steak next weekend...it'll be good for ya!
This I cannot do. We're talking about two very visible tech companies, one of whom is threatening lawsuits as the result of my work. It's not a good time.
Sounds to me like your amp isn't getting power anymore. If it was spliced into to have the aftermarket deck supply it power then it may not of been tapped back into the original power source.

First things first, check your owners manual and check out the fuse panel If I'm understanding this correctly, You would have had to pull the deck and disconnect the players harness from the trucks factory harness, thats the next connection to check. when you connect the factory harness to the aftermarket harness the pins have to match exactly, if they dont it may show a connection for a short time but can cause fuses to blow if the connection isnt a solid one. ( point being they may have half arsed it when they hooked it up ). If you have an aftermarket amp hooked up it can also cause fuses to blow if the amps capabilities are higher than what the deck is able to withstand. For instance if you have a 2 or 4 channel 1000 watt amp that means the amp will split and push those watts evenly to each speaker. 4 speakers = 250 watts peak power per speaker and around 125 watts continous and so on. If the deck is not capable of that kind of wattage is can cause the deck to blow fuses and/or fry the deck all together. You kept the reciept right.? Hope this helps..
