Dave,
The IFS is a 78 Cordoba, I didn't use the kit, just kinda muddled though it on my own.
You're my kind of man Mike. Kits are for Kids,,, Silly Rabbit...
In this shop is Only My Truck stuff and tools..and once in while a Harley or two I love it.. fully heated, and it stays pretty cool in the summer.
My shop area is connected and I have heat and air but the problem is I have to keep my '03 truck outside and my three other vehicles got no place to hide. My wife has her garage in the front of the side where I have my machine shop stuff.
I see you are in NW PA. How close to the OHIO line??? I have a few freinds that live up next to Sharon, PA. Walford56 lives up there in that neck of the woods too.
Later man...
PS My son is into HD's. he has a 2008 Electroglide with all kinds of stuff on it. If my wife would ride I would probably be into it too but she has physical problems that just don't make it practical. besides that. I have way too many other interests that seem to suck up my cash like a shop vac. I'm one of those guys that has to have every new tool I see. I think I need to join Tools and Equipment Annonymous...

Well I'm a bit North of Sharon, my back yard pretty much boarders NY state. I'd say I'm about 2-2 1/2 hrs from Cleveland. I'm a hour or so east of Erie
My wife has her own Harley she rides hers for short day trips and on my bagger for the long hauls, its been a great hobbie for us we love to ride.
I am actually looking for a set of doors for my 56 because the previous owner took the wing windows out and went with the single glass ...I hate that setup.

OK, I'm guessing you are not far from I-90 then. Years ago I used to run expedited freight through there between Detroit, Cleveland, Erie, Buffalo and Rochester. I was up you way two years ago come Jan. on my way to Massachusetts.
after reading the thread I remembered another like it... in the '53s you have to modify the door since the upper hinge pocket interferes with the glass... here's a link to the thread... maybe it will confuse you even more

John,
Yep, you're right. That is one reason for doing it like Mike did. Putting in the section for the mirrors sets things back enough to get by the hinge pocket.
I have a 55 that I want to do that to also. I know there is a kit out there that has metal preformed pieces that you weld in and use a flat pc of glass all the way to the front(doesn't have a curved glass) but the hinge pockets still have to be modified. For looks I think this is the best look, more natural to the opening of the door frame.
I put the curved one piece glass kit in my 55.. see my gallery for the installation pictures.. you still have to modify the door some, but its interior..
make SURE you figure out what to do about the door edge/felt window wipe BEFORE you paint.. three are a number of ugly gaps where the vent window & separator were..
