I have a Job 1 that has had not one problem. I get 12.5 local and 15 mpg hwy empty. I am curious though about this reflash thing. I have not been back to the dealer since I drove off the lot. I have a mechanic I have been using for 40 years who I trust more than any dealer. I would use the dealer for warrenty work, but my mechanic is just fine for maintenance like oil changes or brakes. I have 18,000 on the truck. Should I contact the dealer for a reflash?
you have to eval the impact of the reflash, though. if you are happy with the things right now, no issues, truck runs great then weight that against the reflash.
Usually the reflash is the best option bescause a little better mpg and when my truck goes into regen it is a little longer between them and no loss of power during the cleaning cycle.
My dealer told me that you must have a problem to get ANY reflash. They just won't do it because you want it..It is FOMOCO policy they say..reporting poor MPG is not considered a problem. Said that is standard policy all over????
I'm like the poster, Mine is a job 1 has 1400 miles todate. I'm getting (~12.5-13) to work and back (mix of city and county roads). This week I took a 30 mile round trip to the ford dealer to get the venturi tee for the radiator issue and I was getting 17mpg @ 60mph on the lie meter. I've thought about getting the reflash but everything is working great! I do know I have and old flash due to the only regen I've experience after returning home putting it in park, the idle increased to ~1100 rpms for a minute or two then went back to its idle rpm "stank up my garage". I'm taking a trip upnorth this weekend so will get a better idea of what it will get.
I have a new 08 4x4 lariat with 1600 miles so far, and the only time I can sense its in regen is the mileage may drop, I have yet to see a light come on. Where do you see this at or is it one of the 3 buttons on the right you need to scroll through to see?
I am currently getting 15.2 hand calculated on two lane country roads in North Georgia.
the only way to tell with the latest flash is the three buttons, go into setup and then push the re-set button and it should go thru all the items, last one will say cleaning exhust filter, when finished it will just disappear
It may be FOMOCO policy but I know dealers do them if you ask..The dealer we use in Florida will do it. This one in Ohio will not....They go by the book
did mind two weeks ago, appears to run smother, tells me when it does it's regen, getting a little better mileage.
When you say it tells you when the regen is running, how do you figure? I was told I have the most up to date flash and I have never seen a message flash on the dash???
lastest flash will only briefly tell you cleaning exhaust filter on the message center then goes away, you may never know it unless you happen to see that brief message.
Then the only way to confirm is to hit the setup button, then reset and it will go thru the displays and the last one will say cleaning exhust filter.
I have also been told I am on the latest flash but I found out that this is incorrect.
What do you mean incorrect? You saying the dealer said you were and you did not see what the message? Or are you saying you know you have the latest flash and still see no message?
