Well....I don't know. I know what the charts say but my 96 came with NAW4 and so did 2 other 96's that I put chips in. For a while I ran a TEE5 that came from a 95 and both TDE0 and TDE1 are listed as 96 PCM's
So you saw the post before I changed it.
I decided the years would make it way to confusing if somebody like you saw it.

Its a reason for the 4 code.
