I was driving home from the gym and physio today, and this guy in a toyota truck just wouldnt get off of my bumper. It was double lane highway, and there were semi's driving slow in the right lane, and I was about 10km over the speed limit.
Anyways I finally got a chance to get back in the right lane, and when he got up beside me, I showed him exactly what a ol 7.3 could do.
I gotta hand it to him though, he wasnt that far behind. I got to 100mph (when does the governer kick in anyways?) and decided that was enough play time.
Kinda funny when ya get up that fast the speedometer does its little hop back to zero.
I did the exact same thing with a Nissan Titan two years ago, and we were running up a long incline neck-and-neck until I finally got off the throttle at about 118 mph (calculated based on RPM due to the "zeroing" effect of the speedo at 100)... the engine light had come on for overboost, but I was darned proud of my PSD!
I'm pretty much still stock. I don't believe I have a chip, but there is either a chip or something's been flashed into the PCM... just have not made it a priority to find out which yet.
If you went over ~92 MPH, you have something since the truck will simply peter out right there. Besides, keeping up with a V8 Titan isn't something a stock 7.3 will do...
I have a similar story... day after i put my TN in, had a new Tundra i was following to a motocross race.... my truck was empty except for my 3 buddies and me. Pulled up next to a stop light to see a woman driving and her husband in the passenger seat just laughing and smiling away. Well, she took off from the red light like a bat outta H*ll and i'm at a no boost take off in 80E... Long story short, i know what the back of a Tundra looks like very well. Didn't run the truck extremely hard becasue of the new turbo being broken in but still i was in her pretty good.

I was in the truck at the time, and I was scared stiff. I don't like to go that fast!
He He, my car can still go faster than that, though. But you know that since you were driving it.
There is no doubt that there is some type of reflash in the your truck's past...it smokes more than it should on WOT. I love it!
