That was one of my first trucks, I had two different ones that were identical. I mean just about exact twins. Long time ago, and they have changed, actaully one has been sold.

The Rustoleum was reduced wit laquer thinner, which everyine said would never work. It was painted out doors in the elements. This paint does not have clearcoat at all, and it was simply wet sanded and rubbed by hand.
I will tell you that it is real tough to keep this paint super shiney. It oxidizes rapidly, and requires quite a bit of maintenance. It scratches and dulls very easilly, but on the upside, when I tear it up off road, a little rattle can action and some wet sanding provides decent results.
I guess that paint is a couple years old now.
Eh, for the 60 bucks it cost to paint, it is alright. Has enough color to be different, and shines enough to drive on the street.
Good enough for the girls I date!

Did you weld up the broke 60? I grenaded mine a while back and cant find another front for under 800 around here.I stole my currie 9" front out of my truck for my jeep. I was thinkin to just weld up the case to save money.Could have currie build another 9" front but thats a small fortune.

That was not mine. It was just another statistic from a day of off-roading. That belonged to another cat. That axle housing is scrap, and the owner ordered a Dynatrac unit.
The cast portion was busted, and it would be way too much work to repair. Sometimes starting over is best.

I stay away from mud...i like to see whats going to do the deed to my rig.Plus the mud around here is all alkali and that just eats your rig out from under you.

Thumbs up D70 vs 14 bolt

I asked you some time ago why you preferred the 14b over the D70s. I guess now I know why.

So is the Orange short box your truck? or is it the white one? I am referring to your photobucket. Both look to be fun trucks. You better post a video of that short box with all of that HP blasting some mud into the atmosphere.......

Scott, they are both part of my gang of trucks. The white one used to be one of my first projects, and it has evolved into a real tiger. Still kind of mild, but has a new set of 44's and still sits real low. I like the look, and it handles well.
I will be out this weekend, and we will get some footage of the "pumpkin", thought I have not painted the new tailgate.
I will send you some footage.

I really like the third bearing on the pinion and its ease of set-up. These 14 bolts set-up much like a ford 9 inch and do not require a ton of shims. The set-up is adjustable, and super easy to do. In fact, if anyone is learning to set-up gears, I higly recommend to start on a 14BFF, toyota, ford 9", or samuri axle. These are gravy, and can help with the fundamentals.
The 14B is a very inexpensive axle. AFtermarket support is everywhere, and in stock form a very string axle without some of the problems associated with the dana axles.
14B's are also very easy to shave for additional ground clearance.
Just a real nice axle.
