Picked up my 2001 SuperCrew XLT last week and the dealer didn't have Remote Keyless entry Fobs for the truck. He thought they might be locked in the safe. After a couple of calls this week he finnaly calls me back and says that it didn't have that option. I told him that it is listed in the brochure for the 2001. He then said that the ones built early on didn't have them. Is he pulling my leg or is he telling the truth.
Hope I don't have the same problem...The Lariat also has the keypad..I would think that if it shows up in the flier, you should have it. That is part of the power package...
early super crews did not have the 60C option.
(ones built prior to july of 2000)
Now it is a standard option on both the XLT and Lariat.
You can have a good brand of alarm system installed that will connect into the power door locks. Which will do exactly the same as the factory option.
Thanks for all the information. That was the response that I got from FORD, the early ones made it was an option. Oh well, still love the truck. I guess, I will add them to my shopping list of things to get.
Thanks Again.
I bought my F-150 SuperCrew in march and it had two key fobs w/ it. I don't like the fact that if the truck is running they do not work. It would be nice to warm up the truck in the winter at work. Should have gotten the Lariet package w/ the number pad like the Lincoln Town Car.
You don't want the factory ones anyway. i will give you mine, they're not the greatest. I took mine over and put a remote start/alarm on it. I think it is a viper start/alarm, with a 1/4mile range for the remotes. much better than the factory..
Thanks for all the help. I finnaly got up the courage to let somebody else work on the "Crew" and got a Remote Keyless Entry installed. Works great, sure saves the paint from trying to find that key hole in the dark.
Thanks Again.
