I liked Get smart but thought Journey to the center of the earth lacked a lil "pre story" just seemed to jump right to the main story, no build up to it.
...people can post their opinions about any given movie new or old...
You said old was ok. The movie Duel (1971). I just heard it was released on DVD and I want it. Kind of corny by todays standards, but it was cool for back then. Plot: A business commuter (Dennis Weaver in a red 1971 Plymouth Valiant) is pursued and terrorized by a malevolent driver of a (1955 Peterbilt 281) tractor-trailer. Director: Steven Spielberg.

That movie used to be on tv alot...I've probably seen parts of it about 30 times, but never seen the whole movie...it's kinda hard to watch with no dialog.
Just seen this one on DVD today. Not talking the one from 2000 with Nicolas Cage, its the one from 1974. Plot: They steal 48 muscle & exotic cars. It has some corny acting but it has cool cars. Its worth watching.
Ya 2000 was a remake. I thought the 1974 one didn't have the best acting but what do you expect when a stunt man/director/writer stars in his own movie. Most of the movie didn't have real actors. Just some of HB's friends. Also most of the car chases didn't scripted. Some were actually were real chases. Seems HB often didn't/couldn't get the proper permits so the cops took out chasing him. There's a lot of history behind the movie and the original Eleanor the car. Car chases was amazing for it's time. Here's the Trailer for the 74 one. YouTube - GONE IN 60 SECONDS (trailer)
I have the DVD's. His wife (HB was killed on set making his next movie) Does a really cool intro on the making of the movie and all the chases. I think she did that in 02 when the movies were released as a pair. I actually didn't care for the Nicholas cage one very much.
Yes Tony they did use the same car in the Original and it was just a plain jane Mustang Fastback 71 or 72 i think i think it is one of the best chase scenes ever film it makes a cameo in the Junkman which was the second film he made he was killed unfortunately making the 3rd film which was a sequal to the 1st film.
