Question Is this normal?

I am running a 20k icp mod now and love it. For towing I switch out to the 14.6 due to no guages and loving my truck to much to blow her up. The nights are in the 40s to 50s and when I start the truck in the morn it cranks a little longer then kells 2 million mosquitos with all the smoke. Is the longer cranking and smoke normal after the mod? I am still in high school and dont wanna get stuck at school in the winter due to the icp so I'm trying to make a game plan ahead of time. What would yall do bout this? Any info on both questions is appreciated. Thanks

my money is on the gpr, does your voltage gauge drop way down when you turn the key in the on position, you can also turn the key to the on posistion and cross the 2 studs on the gpr if they spark the gpr is not functioning correctly. if your gpr is functioning properly you may have some bad glow plugs themselves

First thing to do is get rid of both of your resistor mods then try starting your truck cold that way you can rule out if it is the mod or some other problem like gp,s or gpr

FYI my truck does the same thing with these mods on cold starts but usually when it gets much colder I acually take my 10k out in the winter .

ok. i think it is the mods because it never did it until i put them in. and i hear most guy's trucks dont like the 20k. mine does so maybe its just gonna be a little tempermental in the colder temps

it is the icp mod, you are throwing the extra fuel even at idle now, it is perfectly normal. to start easier in cold temps using the icp mod just let the truck sit a few seconds longer after the wait light goes out.

ok i thought bout cycling through like 5 times or so then waitin a few and starting. i thought it might be the mods because the smoke smells like raw diesel fuel

you dont have to cycle the key, even when the wait light goes out the plugs are still on, watch your volt gauge for the jump in voltage to see that they went off and start her up. the max they stay on is 120 seconds
