just got a diablo predator for my truck from the previous owner.this truck is an 02 f350 6spd manual. it does not have a trip computer. w/o the tuner i was getting roughly 14.5 mpg ( this doesnt included the difference in odometer reading due to the 315/75 16's) so i could prolly add another mpg.
he said on the 100hp tune he was getting 20mpg. i might be upto 16 -17 at the most with it and thats driving it like a baby. the 60hp tune feels like it losses power and the 85 hp tune isnt much better, the towing tune sucks gas. all I'm hauling is a 16ft landscape trailer loaded at the most it weighs 3000lbs. tows better with the stock tune.
with the 60hp tune, towing is an absolute joke cant even keep upto speed on a small incline.
i know i should get the dp tuner but the predator was a good deal. anybody have any ideas on why i may not be getting better mpg. any usual problems that cause mpg loss.
seems like it uses a lot of fuel when i leave it sit and idle for a while
Recently i have been running my dp tuner on stock mode to see if i can get better mileage...i have trouble keeping my foot out of it with the 80 econo tune. On stock and driving like a 80 year old in a malibu i get the same or maybe even worse mileage than i was getting with 80 econo. I tow in that mode too, just keep an eye on egt's. Just go out and get a DP tuner, they are awesome.
