Taking out the Limited Slip for a mini spool...need some info

Going to put in a mini spool in an 8.8. I know what it will do and what side effects it will have. SO dont tell me how bad i am about to screw up my friends truck! haha...(i love you guys!) Anywho.....He has an 8.8 LS rear end. I have never messed with one and was wondering if there is a way to take it out without:
1. Messing it up so we can sell it....
2. Taking it out....um......ok refer to number one......

Just wondering if their is any special way or tools that are needed. Thanks guys! O yeah! If any want a almost brand spaking new posi set....let me know. He just had this new one put in about 5 monts ago.

I was pretty shure a mini spool could only be used in an open carrier. I have a spool in my truck and all I can say is "your gonna love it!"

Good, that is what i want to hear....but what you are saying is that their are 2 different carriers for an open and a limited slip? See, if it was up to me i wouldn't even mess with this and just get a full spool. BUT being his mechanic....well friend with tools.....im the one that will be turning the wrench. Thanks for the info.......

Yup, you'll have to have an open carrier, which means disassembling the R&P & such... at that point a real spool sounds alot better

simpple way to make money!! take out the rearend, sell it for say $200. (8.8 posi's are worth a bit) then go to the junk yard and buy a 9" from 72-83' f-150.( i paid 100$ all complete for mine) and order a mini spool from summit 30$, it goes in with ordiary tools. swap in the 9" bolts right in) and you make 70$ and have a stronger, locked rear end!!
