I was reading that on the DP website, you can fry it.. Thats fine, i have a habit of taking the keys anyway..I should have asked Jody about the IDM mod, got a 140v that Dieselcamper hooked me up with, might have to call him after the install to get his take on it.
I'll bet you're itching like mad to get it, then get it in!!
What's been said before:
1. Keys nowhere near you or ignition!! (Sounds like you are a believer...)
2. Cleaning the PCM is a "touch" job. Take your time, go light; do it right.
3. Biggest problem I had was being 53YO, and not as flexible as I used to be!! Had my nephews assist removing PCM bolt, as it was dang hard for me to get my big mitts on!!
4. ENJOY!!!!!!!!
PLEASE take your keys out. I fried a PCM about a year and a half ago tryin to install a bullydog six position (before i found FTE). Not a fun day/week. Thankgod my neighbor is a diesel tech at the local stealership....

There,s alot of things i didn't know also. Sounds like a costly mistake Will.. ouch..
haha it was horrible. My truck was parked right in the way of my dad's shop on a slight hill. That was a fun day too, pushing an extended cab long bed with 35's. Just save yourself the pain and agony and remove the keys Mike
