Broken x 6.0PSD

Took my x to dealer for overheating problems after towing a boat 300 miles. Blown head gaskets as expected , they told me all was covered under warranty , next call was heads need to be machined and also needs new turbo , great , 2weeks later they are putting it back together and call me to tell me that the Regional Ford Rep. refused the warranty work and expect me to pay $5800 for the work due to the Banks Big Hoss Bundle I installed. Anyone have any luck beating Ford on this issue. Only 75K on truck

Sorry to say but I highly doubt you'll get anything covered under warranty since the Banks tuner was used.

Sounds like they have you over a barrel. The only hope you have is to see if the dealer will negotiate the cost of the repairs.

I think about nightmares like this every time I see anybody talking about engine mods and tuners.

I doubt Ford will do a thing to assist you in these repairs.

Must Pay to Play

Thanks Guys , well two things I know for sure from reading these posts for the last few years is that if you own a 2005 6.0 PSD you will be replacing head gaskets and the turbo eventually , as for the Banks System I have no regrets and it runs like a dragster, my fuel mileage avg around town went to 19 and over 20 highway , I guess the price you pay for performance .

I also have an 05 and had the turbo replaced at 15k. I have never towed so I can't speak for the head gaskets. It now has 17k on it and runs like a top.

05 checking in w/ no troubles ever except EGR gunk...

Sounds like you got the right attitude though. As mentioned, See if the dealer will cut you a break on labor or cost of parts to get you down.

Some sound advice- you would have been wise to put headstuds on her or it will happen again!

That's why I waited until the warranty expired (five years on the 7.3) to mod my truck.

Good luck.

warranty

YEAAAHHHH

I've got a juice with attitude set up on mine and she needs to go back to the dealer for the Exhaust smelling way to rich hot or cold! So I have to pull all that stuff, hope they don't spot Pipe plug in exhaust manifold where temp probe was!!! Changing all filters and oil first to see if it changes? Only put 5K on a year.

Good luck in your negotiations .
