Are you setting CEL and code for ICP? If not, then no in my opinion. Your money though. Should be bolt on deal for your rig. I'm still running stock 15 degree on mine and don't have any problems, but when mine does die, I'll upgrade then.

If your running stock sticks it is probably not worth it. The 17 degree pump will handle more oil pressure/volume than the 15 degree pump.

Some 15 degree pumps are pretty strong. There are a couple guys on here running chips that don't have any oil issues at all when they put their foot in it. However, most will start to sputter out on the high end.

How many miles do you have on your engine? It might be worth it is you have a ton of miles on her, but in my opinion if your not running bigger sticks or a tuner I would spend the money on it.

If you do decide to upgrade, get the pump from International instead of Ford. They have them priced better. I'm not sure if powerstrokeshop has them or not.

I cant throw a CEL on stock sticks even on my 140setting pulling a hill loaded. The only way I can is if I crank up my 18k all the way. I'de put the money else where unless you plan on bigger sticks in the near future

I just rounded over 130 thousand the other night. I ordered a DP tuner last night with the extreme and smoke settings. I notice it to sputter around 3000k on the tach. I dont plan for any sticks anytime soon. I was thinking about starting to peice things together to make the big power when i do get sticks. I was thinking about doing the 17 degree switch along with a single stage fuel system from beans. Would this hurt anything if i am running with stock sticks for a while? Any more suggestions on what i should start doing before the sticks.

Thanks alot guys. Your always a big help

Even with stock injectors those mods will be fine. You may not notice any increase with them but they will certainly won't hurt. But they are good building blocks. If your gonna buy a new HPOP you might consider saving up for the Dieselsite's Pulse pump. It is a lot more ($1400) than a 17* but might still be something to consider.

As the other's have said, with the stock sticks, there shouldn't be any problems and therefore no need for the 17* pump. However, if you're thinking of upgrading and you've found a pump and have cash for it, do it. With stage 1's and a SC 1705, I can pull a code far too easily. Need to upgrade as soon as I find more $$$$$. Does anyone have the IHC number on hand???

The Pulse Pump is a no go. They had some serious problems once they started to go full production with them. Apperantly one of the builders switched to cheaper internals which caused the pump to fail. I'm not sure what the status of the Pulse is now...

Yeah I guess they still don't have them ready. I check the site and no mention of them. I figured it would be worked out by now. I guess not...

Yeah, I know what you mean TJ. I thought they'd have back by now too. I believe that was the only setup that offered that psi numbers via single pump.

I believe it is F81Z-9A543-CRM. Not 100% sure on that. Someone will confirm... (by morning probably!).

The cheapest way to change the fuel pump is do it yourself. You don't have to remove the turbo, but its somewhat of a project. Patience is needed...

Will be interesting to see when you get your files.....my guess is the sputtering is from low fuel....perhaps you should shim the stock fuel. I'd put $$$ into a fuel system first...then IC, then stix....then HPOP you will be wanting them....heh heh...just a matter of time...
