Yeah, my company just cut our hours by 50%!
I've been looking , but just about everywhere I look there's a hiring freeze.
I don't think that I like this "change" much personally.

Damn legislature just doesn't get it.
My neighbor's company just layed-him-off after 28 years. They're taking the company to Indiana, where it's friendlier to the printing industry.
We're going to be a real "green" state, except the greenery won't be money......

Been noticing the same thing. You'd think that when even the movie business was getting out... people would start waking up... but since when were liberals and tree huggers known for having much interest in the reality of anything. When liberals tout Berkley students as their best and brightest... and a Berkly student was recently quoted suggesting that the founding fathers were "blowing issues out of proportion" when they wrote the constitution... I'm not sure there's any hope for this crowd. Between business closing down, smart business leaving and the recent budget cut for education - I opted for boot camp and 4 years of job security. :-)
While I've been warmly welcomed by the Socal chapter, I don't suspect I'll remain local for long... boot camp aside.
p.s. I don't credit Mr. Beck for being all that original, but a friend directed my attention to this video, which reassurred me that it's more important than ever for practical folk to quit being so polite to idiots.
I got a love hate relationship with cali. I love the weather and being able to go snowboarding, bodyboarding, to the desert or to mexico almost any time you want. But I do hate how much it cost to live here.
