Lift costs?

I went over to 4 wheel parts today and they are trying to charge me 800$ for labor for a 3" body lift and 1300 for a suspension. I only wanted to spend 300 for a body lift, could anyone tell me if this is even posible or how hard it is to do it yourself. I have always heard it is quite hard

Lift costs?

we have a local 4 wheel parts here in atlanta, that place is nothing but a rip off, they never keep their word, and most of the workers there are idiots, same goes for their mail order store, when i buy stuff, i buy from ntw, never had a prob from them, about lifting costs, what kinda truck is it?....ford pickup im assuming, anyway, when i was 15 i got a 6 in put on my 85 ford, total labor and parts from a local shop was 1200 bucks, they usually charge about 100-150 for body lifts, now me and my buddies can put body lifts on trucks in about 2 hours, and straight axle susp lifts in about 3-4, ttb fords in about 5-6, its really not all that hard to do yourself, helps if u have a few extra hands though..

I have an 82 f150 4x4. I ordered an 2.5 inch lift from jc whitney about four months ago. It took five days to get, and about a day to put it on. It only cost 300 with shocks. not bad considering the local parts house wanted a grand for the same kit. It wasn't all that hard to put on, just read the instuctions good. You will definitly need an alignmet after though. I would recamend getting the ajustible cams for the caster camber before you start that way you don't have to drive a week while the alignmet shop waits for parts. I hope this helps and good luck

Body lifts are not very hard. You can use a floor jack and do it yourself. I installed 1" rubber pads under all the bolts to reduce vibration and I use a 18" 4x4 piece of wood and a floor jack. Jacked up each corner of the cab and slipped it in then replace the bolts.

You can get a 3" lift and do it yourself but I'd look very closely at the brake lines and rad hoses, fuel line... Some of them might need to be replaced.

I wouldn't deal with 4 wheel parts. My roommate here at college has a dodge with a lift and some Weld typhoon rims. Well, he got a crack in his rim. He had a warranty, but 4 wheel parts would not honor it. He didn't have his reciept, but he had his credit card reciept and they had a record of it. Well, he ended up going directly through weld, and after 3 months of riding on his spare, he got a new rim. But, it trying to figure it out, he actually had a manager at 4 wheel parts hang up on him, because he said he couldn't help him.

if your looking for a body lift it will run you 180$ for the body lift and about 300$ in labor because i work at a 4x4 shop . you can get either a 6 inch superlift or a 6 inch skyjacker lift or a 8 inch skyjacker lift for your model. it take 9 hrs to put the supension lift on and 2 hrs to put the boyd lift on. i have a 86 ford with a 8 inch skyjacker lift and a 3 inch boyd lift on 39.5 tsl's and it's great. if you live in florida i would go to 4x4s and more and you can get such a great deal there. e-mail me at suddenimpact4x4(No Email Addresses In Posts!) and i can hook you up with all your 4x4 needs
