never when you need it!

I have a F150 4WD with 5 speed manual trans. The 4WD won't engage after the truck has warmed up. I have a shifter on the floor to engage the 4WD but the hubs are full time. Whenever the truck is cold I never have a problem engaging and disengaging? I found this problem sitting in the middle of a mud hole.

have you tried this procedure?
tcase out of gear, trans in gear, let out clutch, depress clutch, trans out of gear, engage 4 wheel drive.

sounds to mean that your transfercase is messed up i would go to local 4wd shop and let them check it out.
