That's a pretty powerful statement. It makes sense why FORD is behind in horsepower. They focus more on an overall truck than just horsepower to where as GM just cares about HP and not the overall ride of a truck.

i agree with the guy. the ford still seems to out-tow, out cargo anything else for a 1/2 ton anyway, but has the lowest HP rating of them all. i take the whole truck into consideration when i buy as well. i won't own the most powerful truck (on paper) out there, but i will own the most capable.

Yep, my good ole '99 2v V10 4R100 non PI suits my needs just fine. I am sure the new PI Heads 3v v10 5R100 is a blast to drive but i don't see the need to purchase another truck if this 1999 is built solid.

I know the hp issue has been debated a zillion times, but i reckon Ford (or GM, Dodge or Jap) fans do not wanna be upstaged. However does one really need (more than) 300hp and 360ft/lbs odd to haul 1and a halftons or pull 5? I still dont see why a pickup truck needs or can handle nigh on 400hp as a work truck. Personally id like to see a modern reincarnation of the old 300cid straight six.
