Shoot one of those baby's and you'll have an extended stay.

They're off limits.

Bill will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you can draw a tag for the herd on the other side of the mountains.

You'd probably stand a better chance of being struck by lightning than getting drawn.

I think it has to do with the pressure in the cylinder. Compressing sea level atmosphere results in a higher cylinder pressure than compressing high elevation atmosphere. The slightly lower cylinder pressure needs a little more heat to ignite the fuel.

I don't know why they still have a long delay when the motor is obviously hot. That part is a mystery to me.

There are hunts in the Owens Valley.
DFG - Hunting - Elk Management Program - Tule Elk Hunts

But it is extremely hard to get a tag. Lightning would be a better wager.

No, joke, just something to discuss. You know I never joke.

So you say yes. And I say, what about Flying Fish?

you said fish not flying fish....its like asking if squarrels like to fly and saying that there are flying squarrels...maybe squarrels were a bad example givin the recent videos posted....

but how do we know that the flying fish like flying maybe they do it in nessesity not out of joy.....

what did the fish say when it hit the wall?

Yeah, Flying Fish are a bit unusual. But then, other fish often breach the surface and can be said to be flying to catch bugs.

Okay, how about this - let's say a Bald Eagle swoops down and snatches a big Salmon out of Yellowstone Lake. He flys away with the Salmon in his talons toward his lair. Is the Salmon afraid because he is flying thousands of feet in the air? Is he afraid the Eagle will drop him? Or more afraid that it won't?

I'm sure you can begin to see why this is important!

I think being introduced so abruptly to an unfamiliar environment could certainly be a cause for concern to the Salmon, even though I know nothing about the level of self awareness a Salmon might have. I have to believe that the inability to breathe coupled with the discomfort of the Eagle's talons in it's flesh would be likely to outweigh any concerns it might have regarding it's sudden relocation to the sky.

This is assuming that there are Salmon in Yellowstone lake.

i think the fact that the fish if "flying" might be the lest of their fears at that point.... but once droped and the fish is "falling with style" would they be fear full of the ground that is coming up fast? or the flying?

its not the fall that kills you its the landing.
