Has anyone had roll over problems with F150 4x4 in slow speed off camber situations when off roading? I have a 98 F150 4X4 w/xtra cab and cab-hi camper shell. Last year on the Carson River I had the left rear tire teetering about 18 inches off the ground but managed to salvage it without going over, but it was very scary. I know this is a long-wheelbase truck and I understand the clearance limitations but it doesn't seem like it should want to roll over so easily. Any experiences, suggestions? Thanks.
18" is not a big problem. The 150's are not meant to flex like a rockcrawler, especially with the sway bars connected. The 150's have a higher center of gravity, but you should be able to wheel it under most cases. I have a Toyota 4Runner, and a few months ago I got a picture of my GF driving it, and the right front tire is 6+ feet off the ground. It didnt roll, but was tippy. On a truck the size of yours, even though it may be scary, you should be able to get 2-3 feet before having a problem.
You never take your camry off the blacktop. If you were to drive in Missouri and drop a wheel of the highway (no shoulder) you would roll your camry. Everybody here loves you by the way
