Cool Not Starting

Here is my delima. Thought my fuel pump was going out on my 97 PSD, again. Got the new fuel pump. Removed Fuel canister and old fuel pump. Didn't notice anything until I started to install the new pump. Didn't remember removing the inner banjo gasket. Guess I didn't put it back in when I replaced the fuel pump last time. Anyway, got new banjo gaskets and installed the new pump, and re-installed the fuel canister. BTW, had to let it set overnight waiting for the ford house to open today. Once everything was re-installed, tried to start the truck, no luck. I think I bled all the air out using the schrader valve. While turning over the truck I get a steady stream of fuel. Still wouldn't start. Started running down the batteries. Didn't have a charger, so I used my dads truck to hook up jumper cables. After about an hour of trying to start the truck, still no luck. Tried WD40, didn't even try to start. The tach reads about 300rpm while cranking it. I am at a loss. It's been 2 days without my truck and it is killing me. Is there something else I shuld be looking for?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Is the IPR and other connectors hook back up. The IPR is the two wire on the HPOP but the wire comes off the fuel filter housing.

The only wires that I disconnected were the 3 on the drivers side(don't know why) and the harness on the passenger side. I made sure that everything was connected when I finished putting everything back together.

If you removed the fuel bowl you unhooked the IPR. Double check it just to be safe. Also looking into the wire quality like Rick said. The insulation on the wires don't like Diesel fuel

Here is the low down. I forgot to hook up the connector in front of the fuel canister. I don't know what the "cpu" is that it connects to, but it definitely kept my truck from starting. Once it was hooked back up, she started immediately. Thanks a million for the tips. Man, I love this site.

That's the IPR if its (2 wire) toward the driverside. if its toward the passenger and many wires that also connector the IPR and other fuel filter sending units. Glad to hear your up and running!

Yes, it's the 2 wire connector. Never would have noticed it if I hadn't been listening to ya'll telling me to check the wires. Saved me a wrecker bill and diagnostic fees. Thanks alot.
