Considering buying a 1997 FORD F-350

so i am in the market of buying a newer truck, a diesel, i have an 88 F350 460, 152,000km but its starting to show age and i dont feel like putting money into it, i found this truck in the autotrader

"1997 FORD F-350 1 TON DUALLY, 76000 km(47,500mi), 7.3L powerstroke turbo diesel, 5 speed, 12' deck, winch, newer tires, $10900. "

If I could barter the price down to 10 or even 9k would this be worth my money, is this a decent price for this kind of truck, I was looking at 1999-2000 diesels but you cant seem to find a decent 1ton dually diesel for less than 15, and im talking 150-200k km, I also seem to favor the 90s pickups owned a 95 F250 351 and I loved her, but she had 320k+ on her and was used for serious towing, anyways heres a pic also

Sounds pretty high to me even with low miles. Truck prices are dropping faster than fuel prices are rising so I think you can do better on the price.

spells s-w-e-e-t! 47,500mi (76000km) is not even broken in. sounds pretty good to me.

I figure, if they let it go for 9 or 9.5 it wouldnt be that pricey. considering its only got 76k on it, i see similar diesels around here with 200k+ going for 7-9gs

How many miles though, thats a deciding factor when it comes to price, also where you live is another factor, in central alberta trucks seem to cost more as they are worth more even with higher miles, reason being we dont use salt in the winter and we dont have hills

Rust free & low miles ,,,all you have to decide is whether it will bother you to walk away ..You could get alot of years out of that truck ...

So I'm guessing a 99 with 355,000 for $5,500 isnt the best deal ever?

ok so I test drove this truck, spanking clean not a speck of dirt or rust on her, not even a scratch, chassis is undercoated, cleanest truck ive ever seen under the hood, this truck never seen a road, it was used at a big plant as a maintenance vehicle, its not an F350, its an F-Super duty(F450) Has a huge 80,000lb winch on the deck, 13,000lb weight capacity on the deck, i got them to drop it to 9500, 10 with taxes. If I can get 10g together in the next week or 2 im sure it will be mine. seriously where can you find a diesel truck with 76k km for that price, rare.. Ive owned many fords and never found one as mint as this.

a truck is is worth however much someone will give u. but if ur looking for a keeper its better then buying one for 7000 and then dumping 3000 into through out the year
