Axle Code question
I read a bit on your web page. Is that what your wanting to build is a replica hummer?? Thatd be cool. Myself Ill just stick with my 150 super cab body.. Ive phoned a few parts dealers out here and Im probably gona go either 4:56 or 4:88 gears.
I phoned a local 4x4 shop out here and picked there brains for a bit. About gear ratio's and tires. I think they've got me sold on 4;56's with 33's suposedly when I do this Ill have like masive power. Or at least all the power a 300 fuel injected 6 can have.. Thatd be wicked. What's your thoughts??

Yes, that's what I'm working on building. I was originally starting on the cage, but when my 5.0 snapped the crank, I had to shift to rebuilding a motor for the truck first. Got the 5.8 and built it up. Now as finances permit, I will be collecting steel again to start building the cage of the H1 replica. Once I get that ready (probably a year or more from now) I'll start stripping the F150 down to the frame and mount the new body on it. Then comes the fun of getting everything hooked up and putting together a custom interior. As I'm sure everyone here is feeling, finances are tight now. Plus steel prices are up, so that slows down the project too.I've been back and forth with Conanski on occasion with gear ratios. I've considered the 4.56's but with the torque of the 5.8, I think I may be able to get away with 4.10's so I still have road/highway driveability. I'll be running 35" tires but the 5.8 already pulls better than the 5.0 I had even with the 36" Swampers on it now. I want to balance power with 'mileage'
on the road.
